It's that time of year. School is letting out and everybody is gearing up for summer activities. We're also gearing up at the farm for the time of year when the earth overflows with abundance. We hope you can make the farm part of your Vacation Bible School or summer youth activities.
Studies have shown that experiential learning helps kids retain what they learn. It's easy to tell students about hunger, poverty or creation, but it usually goes in one ear and gets lost somewhere in there (or is it "out the other"?). Our faith-based experiences will help your kids make connections between, poverty, hunger and Jesus' call to serve the "least of these." Kids can get their hands dirty working or harvesting veggies. They can see our farmers in action and pet some of our livestock.
You can't beat the farm for getting out this summer and giving your kids a taste of farm life and God's mission to the "least of these."
The WHRI Farm blog exists for the members of the farm to share stories, thoughts, and ideas. We celebrate a diverse and ever-changing group of friends, family, and farmers, so naturally the blog cannot be taken as an official view of the Farm. As you read and follow the blogs, we hope you can experience the diversity of thought and life that is the Farm.
